Lake County Health Department supports National Latino AIDS Awareness Day

October 15 is National Latino AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD). This year's theme is “Save a Life, It May be your Own,” and the Lake County Health Department's STD/HIV program has scheduled opportunities for free HIV testing at several health department locations

NLAAD is a national social marketing campaign that engages the Hispanic/Latino community in HIV awareness and promotes testing, prevention and education. NLAAD takes place annually on Oct. 15, the last day of Hispanic Heritage Month, and was initiated as a response to the HIV/AIDS crisis within Hispanic/Latino communities in the U.S. and its territories:
