Jimmy John’s switching to clover sprouts

Jimmy John’s sandwich shops will be switching from alfalfa sprouts to easier-to-clean clover sprouts, owner John Liautaud announced on Monday.

The change comes after alfalfa sprouts supplied by Tiny Greens Organic Farm of Urbana, IL were recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination. Fifty-one cases of Salmonella were reported by individuals after eating alfalfa sprouts at Jimmy John's restaurants in several Illinois counties, including Cook, Kankakee, McHenry, and Will.
